It looks like extravagant ‘hi-vis’ clothing could become the latest fashion trend.
There was shock online when it was revealed premium designer Balenciaga is selling a reversible high-vis jacket for €3,000.
The pricey item of clothing is called the 'The Reversible Parka Jacket in Yellow’ and is made from 100% polyester.
The luxury brand says the ‘cocoon-shaped' piece also features a technical ripstop, as well as having a drawstring hood and a black contrasting lining.
But savvy shoppers have raised an eyebrow or two over the fancy jacket’s massive price-tag.
One Twitter user said “Balenciaga are selling hi-vis jackets for £3000 and apparently the one I have from Sainsbury is worth £25? Do me a favour.”

Another said “Why are Balenciaga selling the jacket I use to unload the delivery from the HGV at my retail job for £2890.”
Other people seemed convinced that the label is dipping into the field of psychology with their latest offering.
One user wrote “Balenciaga are a social experiment to see how much people will pay for a brand at this point."
The designer insists their prices are a reflection of their commitment to sustainability and ethical management.
